Rama's birthplace. The grand new temple was consecrated in January 2024 after decades of legal and social discourse. One of the most significant temples in Hindu civilization.

History

The site is believed to be Rama's exact birthplace. After a prolonged legal battle, the Supreme Court of India ruled in 2019 to give the site for temple construction. The new temple, designed by Chandrakant Sompura, was consecrated on January 22, 2024.

🏛️ Architecture

New Nagara-style temple built with Rajasthani pink sandstone. Three stories, 161 feet tall. The ground floor houses the Ram Lalla idol. No iron or steel used — entirely stone construction designed to last 1,000 years.
