“Om Saravanabhava — the six-syllable mantra, each syllable corresponding to one of his six divine faces”
Subramanya is the six-faced god of war, victory, wisdom, and youth. He is the divine commander of the deva armies, born specifically to destroy Tarakasura. Inseparable from Tamil cultural identity, he is also the profound philosopher who taught the meaning of Om to his own father Shiva.
Born from sparks of Shiva's six faces, carried by Agni and Ganga, nurtured by the six Krittikas (Pleiades). When Parvati embraced the six babies, they merged into one child with six heads. He presides over the Ajna (third eye) chakra.
