When to Use Planetary Mantras

Based on Horoscope Analysis

Consult a Vedic astrologer to understand:

  • Which planets are weak in your chart

  • Current planetary periods (dasha)

  • Transits affecting you
  • Based on Current Situations

    Saturn problems (delays, obstacles):

  • Shani mantra, especially Saturdays

  • During Sade Sati (7.5 year Saturn transit)
  • Relationship issues:

  • Venus mantra

  • Moon mantra for emotional health
  • Career/education issues:

  • Jupiter for guidance and wisdom

  • Mercury for communication and skills
  • Health/energy problems:

  • Sun for vitality

  • Mars for strength
  • The Specific Day Practice

Chant each planet's mantra on its day:

  • Sunday: Surya

  • Monday: Chandra

  • Tuesday: Mangal

  • Wednesday: Budha

  • Thursday: Brihaspati

  • Friday: Shukra

  • Saturday: Shani (also Rahu)

  • Practice Methods

Each planet has a seed sound:

  • सूं (Sūṃ) - Sun

  • सों (Soṃ) - Moon

  • अं (Aṃ) - Mars

  • बुं (Buṃ) - Mercury

    Common Challenges

    Śanaiścarāya (शनैश्चराय):

  • śanaiś = slowly

  • carāya = moving one (dative)

  • Break it: śa-naiś-ca-rā-ya
  • Aṅgārakāya (अङ्गारकाय):

  • aṅgāraka = glowing coal (Mars is red)

  • Break it: aṅ-gā-ra-kā-ya

  • Cautions and Considerations

    Consult Before Intensive Practice

Planetary mantras are powerful. Before intensive practice:

  • Get your chart analyzed

  • Understand which planets need attention

  • Some planets shouldn't be "strengthened" in certain charts
  • Saturn and Rahu/Ketu

These "malefic" planets require special care:

  • Approach with respect

  • Don't "activate" without understanding

  • Pacification is often better than empowerment
  • Gemstones

Wearing planetary gemstones without proper analysis can backfire. Always consult an expert.

    Integration with Daily Life
