History

Discovered by American naturalist William Hornaday in 1878. The limestone caves became a Hindu temple site in 1891. The 42.7m golden Murugan statue was unveiled in 2006.

Open 6 AM–9 PM. 272 steps to the main cave temple. Located 13 km north of Kuala Lumpur. Free entry. Watch for macaques on the steps.
