Kanipakam Vinayaka Temple

Famous for its self-growing (svayambhu) idol discovered in a well. The idol is believed to be gradually increasing in size over centuries.

History

Three farmers discovered the idol while digging a well. The idol emerged with water and has been growing ever since. The temple was built by the Chola dynasty and expanded by the Vijayanagara empire.
