Principal shrine of the Pushtimarg tradition (Vallabhacharya). The deity depicts seven-year-old Krishna lifting Govardhan Hill. Famous for Pichwai paintings and eight daily darshans.
Founded in 1672 CE. The deity was originally at Govardhan Hill but was moved to Mewar to protect it from Aurangzeb. The bullock cart carrying the deity sank its wheels here — taken as a divine sign.
Haveli-style temple architecture. The sanctum features elaborate Pichwai cloth paintings that change with seasons and festivals. Eight daily darshans (jhankis) correspond to different times of Krishna's day.
